Swadeshi Mandi 2020 (Gaadi Bula Rahi Hai)

Hello Everyone,

On this auspicious and special day for India - The Independence Day, I feel very proud to be a contributing individual of the nation. India's initiative of "Vocal for Local" launched by Honorable Prime Minister is a very important step towards nation-building. For this initiative to have a massive impact on the citizens of India, I invite you all to follow this movement.

Promoting our honourable Prime Minister's vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, MAHAMANDI 2020, a trademark event of NITIE spearheaded by Team MIG (Marketing Interest Group) 1/12 Mandi Sir is coming up this time with the Theme of "Swadeshi Mandi" to promote products made/manufactured in India for making India self-sufficient and self-reliant.

To contribute to this initiative, you can choose to go local. The next time you decide to visit a place, I invite you to the "Rewari Railway Heritage Museum". I along with my friend Vikrant Yadav, have proudly decided to promote this beautiful history of Indian Railways.

Built in 1893, the Rewari Steam Locomotive Shed was the only locomotive shed in North India for many years, and part of the railroad track connecting Delhi with Peshawar After steam engines were phased out by the 1990s and steam traction on meter gauge tracks was discontinued in January 1994, the loco shed remained in neglect for many years before it was rehabilitated. The steam shed reopened in May 2002.

The shed and compound has 11 (of 16 functional in India) of the world's oldest steam locomotives, restored and still functional, Baldwin AWE, Akbar WP1761, Shahanshah WP/P.

The Rewari steam locomotive Akbar has featured in several movies shot here, including SultanGadar: Ek Prem KathaGandhi, My FatherKi & Ka, Gangs of Wasseypur.
Though this place has been in a number of movies in past, still it has never succeeded to come into the sight of tourists.

A place of such historical importance for India definitely deserves your visit. So friends, Plan your next trip to the Rewari Railway Heritage Museum, because -
