When a business is started, the fundamental purpose of the business is to earn profits from the business. The more the profit it earns the more the business can grow. So, when a business tries to earn more profits, it may start focussing more on the numbers and less on the customers. But businesses should understand that customers are the ones that bring in cash in the business and are the source of the profits. Hence, let us deep dive into this aspect further to understand more about the topic.
As Mahatma Gandhi rightly said,
“A customer is the most important visitor on
our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an
interruption of our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider of our
business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favour by serving him. He is
doing us a favour by giving us the opportunity to do so.”
1. The customer is not dependent upon us—we
are dependent upon him.
2. The customer is not an interruption of our
work—he is the purpose of it.
3. The customer is not a rank outsider to our
business—he is a part of it.
4. The customer is not a statistic—he is a
flesh-and-blood human being completely equipped with biases, prejudices,
emotions, pulse, blood chemistry and possibly a deficiency of certain vitamins.
5. The customer is not someone to argue with
or match wits against—he is a person who brings us his wants. If we have
sufficient imagination, we will endeavor to handle them profitably to him and
to ourselves.”
What we learn from this is that Customers are
god. Grahak Hi Bhagwaan Hai
Grahak ka kaam nahi hai khud se baat karneka.
Aap ko grahak se baat karni hogi aur usko khareedne ko bolna hoga, to hi grahak
aap se kharidega.
It is the responsibility of the business to
present itself in front of the customer.
In conclusion, try to interact with your
customers and engage with them and make yourself presentable to be successful
in your business.
Hoping that this article has given you some
useful insights about the importance of the customer in the business and the success of the business.
